What Is Hydrogen Drinking Water
Hydrogen drinking water is ordinary water with molecular hydrogen gas dissolved in it. A machine like the Lourdes Hydrofix creates it through electrolysis: the hydrogen is generated in a separate chamber and dissolved into the pitcher in very fine bubbles. How Hydrogenated Water Differs From Regular Water
Regular water hydrates. Hydrogen drinking water is the same water with dissolved hydrogen gas added. Nothing else changes on purpose: the Hydrofix keeps pH neutral and adds one thing, molecular hydrogen. Standard filtration can't add hydrogen. Alkaline ionizers exist to change pH, not to make hydrogen water. Electrolysis is how a hydrogen water machine adds molecular hydrogen, and separate-chamber electrolysis is how the Hydrofix does it without your drinking water ever directly contacting the electrodes.

Why Dual-Chamber Electrolysis Matters for Hydrogen Drinking
Not all electrolysis is the same. In a single-chamber system, electrolysis happens in the water you drink. In the Hydrofix, it happens in a separate chamber, so your drinking water never directly contacts the electrodes; the hydrogen passes into the pitcher through a Japanese-made multi-layer fiber-reinforced polymer membrane. What ends up in the water was measured by an accredited lab. Japan Food Research Laboratories, an accredited Japanese laboratory, did not detect selected plasticizers (DEHP, DINP, DIDP), BPA, iron or titanium in the water under test conditions, and found it meets Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare drinking-water quality standards (Certificate No. 2302B7007001-0201, May 16, 2023).
Japanese Manufacturing Standards
The Hydrofix is designed, manufactured and assembled in Japan, with Japanese-made parts, and it's the home hydrogen water generator we sell. Concentration, pH and ORP
Three numbers describe the water the Hydrofix makes. Dissolved hydrogen: up to approximately 1.6 ppm (±0.05 ppm), which the product page calls full saturation. pH: within ±0.1 of your source water. ORP (oxidation-reduction potential): improved results are shown on our certifications page. Those are measurements of the water, not promises about you.
How Much Hydrogen Water Per Day
Our suggested use is 1–2 pitchers of hydrogen water a day. Each Hydrofix pitcher holds 1.5 L. If you use the included inhalation kit, add a 30-minute inhalation session. There's no universal recommendation because the research is still developing. Consistency is easier with a machine that makes a fresh pitcher on demand.
How to Make Hydrogen Drinking Water at Home
Three methods exist: tablets, pouches, and electrolysis machines. Tablets dissolve in water, creating a chemical reaction that releases hydrogen gas. Pouches contain pre-made hydrogen water with limited shelf stability. Electrolysis machines generate hydrogen on demand. We sell the third kind because it makes fresh hydrogen water from the water you already have, with nothing added but hydrogen. Fill the 1.5 L pitcher with tap, well, filtered, mineral, spring, alkaline, reverse osmosis or distilled water (not saltwater) and press start. Many people make a pitcher in the morning and another later in the day, which lines up with the suggested 1–2 pitchers a day. Dissolved hydrogen escapes from water over time, so drink it soon after it's made rather than storing it. If you use the inhalation lid and cannula, the suggested session is 30 minutes. Keep it simple and keep it daily.
