The Hydrofix Is Not a Portable Hydrogen Water Generator. Here Is What It Is
If you searched for a portable hydrogen water generator, the honest answer comes first: the Lourdes Hydrofix is not portable. It is a countertop hydrogen water generator that plugs into the wall through a universal AC/DC adapter (100–240V, 50/60 Hz). It has no battery, and it is not a bottle. In exchange you get a full 1.5 L pitcher of hydrogen-rich water per cycle, hydrogen gas inhalation from the same machine, and electrolysis that happens in a separate chamber from the water you drink. Separate-Chamber Electrolysis
Many bottles run electrolysis directly in the water you drink. The Hydrofix runs it in a separate chamber, so your drinking water never directly contacts the electrodes. Hydrogen is dissolved into the water in very fine bubbles, and the water stays pH neutral, within ±0.1 of the source water. Japan Food Research Laboratories, an accredited Japanese laboratory, tested the water the Hydrofix produces: selected plasticizers (DEHP, DINP, DIDP), BPA, iron and titanium were not detected under test conditions (Certificate No. 2302B7007001-0201, May 16, 2023).
Hydrogen Concentration You Can Check
Hydrogen dissolved in water escapes over time, so drink it soon after it is made. The Hydrofix produces up to approximately 1.6 ppm (±0.05 ppm) dissolved hydrogen, which the product page calls full saturation. Every unit is tested individually at the factory in Japan and ships with its own hydrogen concentration certificate tied to that unit, so the number on your certificate is for your machine, not a model average. What to Look for When a Portable Hydrogen Water Generator Isn't Enough
Not all hydrogen water generator devices are built to the same standard. When you compare options, focus on three things: chamber design, electrode material, and verifiable output. These determine whether you're getting hydrogen-rich water or expensive tap water.
Materials and Durability
The Hydrofix uses solid, high-purity titanium-platinum electrodes. The titanium is 99.928% pure and mill-certified to JIS TP270C, and the platinum catalyst is bonded at the molecular level through high-temperature processing, so there is no coating or plating to wear off. The pitcher is Japanese-made and BPA- and BPHF-free. The one scheduled consumable is the cartridge, which you replace every 12 months.
