How a Home Hydrogen Water System Works
Many hydrogen water machines run electrolysis directly in the water you drink. Our home hydrogen water system separates the chambers. Electrolysis happens in its own chamber, so your drinking water never directly contacts the electrodes, and hydrogen is dissolved into the pitcher water in very fine bubbles. This matters because purity is the whole point of a dedicated hydrogen system. The Lourdes Hydrofix uses solid titanium electrodes, 99.928% pure, with the platinum catalyst bonded at the molecular level, and a Japanese-made multi-layer fiber-reinforced polymer membrane to keep that separation throughout the process. No installation required. No water purifier hookup. No RO system connection. Fill the 1.5 L pitcher with water, press start, and the machine handles the rest.
Why Water Machine Design Matters
You'll find plenty of hydrogen water machines that look similar from the outside. The difference lives in the chamber design. When electrolysis runs in the drinking water itself, the electrodes and everything that forms at them sit in your glass. Separate-chamber electrolysis keeps hydrogen production in its own space; the hydrogen dissolves into the water as very fine bubbles while the water's pH stays within ±0.1 of the source. The Hydrofix is not an ionizer, and it doesn't make alkaline water. It produces up to approximately 1.6 ppm dissolved hydrogen, and every unit ships with a hydrogen concentration certificate from factory testing in Japan. That's the difference between alkaline water with a trace of gas and actual molecular hydrogen water.
Maintenance: One Cartridge a Year
The Hydrofix ships with a pre-installed cartridge, which you replace every 12 months. There's no battery to charge and no plumbing to service. Because your drinking water never directly contacts the electrodes, and the solid titanium electrodes have no plating and no coating to wear off, the routine is simple: rinse the pitcher after use and change the cartridge once a year. What You Get With This Water System
The complete home hydrogen water system includes the Lourdes Hydrofix Premium Edition, an inhalation lid and Premium H₂ cannula (2 m), a universal AC/DC adapter, a pre-installed cartridge, a measuring cup, a certificate of authenticity, an English user's manual and a 12-month warranty. The machine makes both hydrogen-rich water for drinking and hydrogen gas for inhalation, at 120 mL/min by spec. Water mode fills a 1.5 L pitcher, which fits the suggested use of 1–2 pitchers a day. Both modes use the same separate-chamber electrolysis. Both are covered by the same documentation.
Japanese Engineering Standards
The Hydrofix is designed, manufactured and assembled in Japan, with Japanese-made parts: the electrolysis chamber, the membrane, the titanium-platinum electrodes and the pitcher. Electronic and electrode components come from ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 certified factories. The machine carries UL/CSA product-safety compliance and Japan PSE certification, and each unit is hand-built and factory-tested in Japan before shipping. It is a hydrogen generation system built for your kitchen counter.
Real Hydrogen Water Starts With Documented Purity
We don't make health claims about hydrogen water. Molecular hydrogen is being studied in a growing number of published studies; see our research library. What we document is the machine. Japan Food Research Laboratories, an accredited Japanese lab, tested the water the Hydrofix produces: selected plasticizers (phthalates DEHP, DINP, DIDP), BPA, iron and titanium were not detected under test conditions, and the water meets Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare drinking-water quality standards. Wondering how this differs from a hydrogen water ionizer? The Hydrofix is not an ionizer: it leaves pH alone and dissolves hydrogen. We publish the results. We chose this machine knowing our own families would use it daily.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you use tap water for hydrogen water? Yes. The Hydrofix works with tap, well, filtered, mineral, spring, alkaline, reverse osmosis or distilled water. Don't use saltwater or seawater. If you already filter your water at home, keep doing that; the Hydrofix adds hydrogen, it doesn't filter.
Does it change the pH of my water? No. The water that comes out stays within ±0.1 pH of the water you put in, and the mineral content is unchanged. That is the difference between a hydrogen water system and an ionizer.
What is actually in hydrogen water? The water you poured in, with molecular hydrogen dissolved in it; nothing is added to the mineral content and the pH stays within ±0.1. We don't make health claims about it, in either direction. Read the published studies in our research library and decide for yourself. If you have a health concern or take medication, talk to your doctor first.
How much hydrogen water should I drink? The suggested use is 1–2 pitchers a day, plus a 30-minute inhalation session if you use the inhalation kit. Drink each pitcher fresh; hydrogen leaves water over time.
