From Under-the-Sink Frustration to a Daily Ritual: How Kenneth Schauer Found the Hydrogen Machine He Stopped Searching For

A life coach who starts and ends every day with the same glass of water

Kenneth Schauer describes himself as "a light being who loves life," a life coach who spends his days helping people who feel trapped find their way back home to themselves. These days, one small ritual anchors his mornings and evenings alike: a glass of hydrogen water from his Lourdes Hydrofix.

"It's the first thing I have in the morning," he says, "and probably the last thing I sip on at night."

Water, to Kenneth, is where everything else starts. "Water is the most essential thing that we have and that we're made of," he says. "More essential than food, because you can live without food much longer than you can without water." If that's true, he reasoned, then the water deserves more attention than anything else in the house. He values holistic choices in what he eats and uses, and the machine, as he puts it, "adds value to other holistic items I have... but it's the starting point because it's water, and that's what we need."

But Kenneth did not arrive here quickly. Before the Hydrofix earned its place on his counter, he had cycled through a reverse osmosis system he'd owned for over a decade, an alkalizing machine, and eventually a combined hydrogen and alkalizing unit, all of them tucked under the sink. What changed was not just the machine, but the feeling that came with finally finding the one he was looking for.

The machine still worked, but the problems went beyond cleaning

For years, Kenneth kept upgrading in search of something better. Reverse osmosis gave way to alkalized water, and then to a machine that made hydrogen alongside it. Each was an improvement on tap water, but none satisfied him for long.

The turning point came when his combined machine developed trouble that ordinary upkeep could not fix. "There were kinda issues, and it was annoying," he recalls. These were not the routine tasks he happily accepts as part of owning anything. "It wasn't about cleaning, or exchanging parts. It was more than that, so I had to have somebody come out."

That friction, combined with a growing conviction that hydrogen water itself held real value, pushed him to look again rather than settle. He was clear about one thing: he did not want to go backward. "I knew I didn't want to go, what I would say, backwards, which would be to alkalized water," he says, listing the crystals and reverse osmosis options he had already left behind.

He was also clear he did not want another unit hidden beneath the sink. The company he'd bought from before had a newer model, but as he put it, "it was just another bigger machine that went under the sink, and I didn't want that."

Research, a gut feeling, and the only phone call he made

Kenneth started researching hydrogen machines again, comparing what was on the market. He does not remember exactly where he first saw the Lourdes Hydrofix, likely social media, possibly a video on YouTube. What he does remember is that most of the machines worth considering were under-the-sink units, and the pitcher-style ones he found simply were not built the same.

"I could tell by the components and then the, where they were made, that the research behind them did not have what was in the Lourdes Hydrofix," he says.

Then he found a phone number and called. It was the only company he called. "I didn't call, that I remember, on any other machine." A Holy Hydrogen rep answered and spoke in detail about the machine and his own experience with it, and something clicked. Kenneth says he was already sold before that call, but the conversation closed the deal, and not in a salesman's way. "Not like a salesman, because I don't feel he was a salesman." Beyond the specs, Kenneth felt something harder to name, a "gut feeling," a "connection I felt I had with this machine that I didn't have with any other, even before I got it."

Asked the candid question every owner gets, what almost stopped him from buying, his answer was flat. "Nothing. I don't think anything stopped me from buying. It was something I had been looking for."

Simple to use, and simple to bring into daily life

When the machine arrived, Kenneth read the instructions and then called back anyway, just to be sure he set it up correctly. The rep walked him through it over the phone. It "didn't take long at all," a matter of filling the base through the filter and the pitcher on top.

What struck him most was how the design felt both approachable and thoughtfully engineered. "It's simple and complex at the same time," he explains. "Simple in the sense of how you use it, but there aren't all these parts and different mechanism in a machine that's hiding stuff from you." He's careful about the limits of what he knows. "I'm not an expert on the machine in technical stuff, so I'm just saying based on what I know."

Kenneth is candid that the machine, like anything worth owning, asks a little of him. There's occasional cleaning, and sometimes water at the bottom. "Not to make it like, oh, this machine is perfect inside and out," he says. "You do have to take care of it, and there's instructions." But he waves those away as ordinary stewardship, the same as cleaning your house or your car. "Those are little things that you would expect, because nothing's perfect in life. It's the value you get out of it that's the most important."

He explored the full range of what the machine offers, using the inhalation accessory and the travel bags often in the early days. Now, home more as a semi-retired coach, he mostly just drinks the water, going through one to two pitchers a day. And the novelty hasn't worn off the way novelty usually does. "Maybe not the same as I was the first day or the days after," he says, "but I still am excited to drink it every morning when I get up."

Two years in, five stars, and the machine he stopped switching from

Kenneth does not reach for numbers to describe what the Hydrofix has meant to him. For him, the value shows up in taste, in trust, and in the simple pleasure of a glass that feels genuinely clean.

"So when that water hits, it's just refreshing," he says of his mornings. "I never had a taste like that before or felt that refreshed when it was going down my mouth." He is careful and honest about what he can and cannot claim: "I can't sit here and say I know what it's doing inside my body, but I know just because it's so clean and refreshing."

After owning machines he'd rate at three and a half or four stars, he places the Lourdes Hydrofix in a category of its own. "This is a five or more. I don't know how you could put a number on it." Comparing it to everything that came before, he's blunt: "I've had other hydrogen machines, alkalizing machines, reverse osmosis machines, and none of them compare to the Lourdes Hydrofix."

Kenneth, who spends his working life walking people through hard stretches, sees his own path to the machine the same way. "Sometimes we have to go through things to get to where we have to go," he says, "to say, 'This is it. This is my final destination.' Whatever I had to go through to get there was of value." He compares it to a business that fails before the next one takes off. For a researcher who kept upgrading, the most telling sign is that the searching finally stopped. "So when something is working for you, why switch?" he asks. He calls the machine, only half joking, "probably the most valuable thing I have" among his belongings.

The rep who first answered the phone remains part of the story, too. "He sold himself, and I was sold on the machine by him selling himself," Kenneth says, describing every interaction since as "five stars."

Sharing the water with clients, one glass at a time

Kenneth's advocacy is not theoretical. Clients who visit him in person are invited to drink from his machine. "I let them drink my water machine. I actually invite them to drink it," he says, and if they have questions or want one of their own, he points them to Holy Hydrogen.

His recommendation is as open as it gets. He says he "would tell anybody to try this." For Kenneth, that is the natural extension of the way he already lives, valuing holistic choices and helping others feel the way he feels about life. The Hydrofix simply became part of that, the clean, refreshing starting point to each day that he now shares as freely as he found it.
